The Polk County Office of Agricultural Economic Development and Polk County Farm Bureau are pleased to invite you to our Friends of Agriculture Breakfast on March 16.

The Friends of Agriculture Breakfasts are held the third Wednesday of every month from 7 – 8 a.m. at the 4-H Center at 135 Locust St. in Columbus. Each Friends of Agriculture Breakfast features a delicious, hearty breakfast and a speaker on areas of interest to our community of farmers, gardeners and food enthusiasts.

This month’s breakfast features Patrick McLendon, the executive director of Growing Rural Opportunities, and Sydney Klein, the program coordinator of Grow Food Where People Live. They will discuss their ongoing efforts to preserve and promote agriculture in Polk County, and increase access to healthy, fresh foods for Polk County families.

We will be accepting donations of canned goods for the pantry at Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry at this event.
