Clyde Amos Halford, 92, of Columbus, N.C., died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016 in the Hospice House in Landrum, S.C.

Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Callie and Maude Cochran Halford. He was the husband of the late Garner Reid Halford who passed away in 1995.

Surviving are a son, Ray Halford; a daughter, Peggy Bulman; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two children, Charles “Crash” Halford and Carolyn Mills, three sisters, two brothers, and three grandchildren, Tammy, Brian Keith, and Ricky.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ron Severs and Rev. Nick Vance officiating. Military rites will be presented by the Polk County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.

Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
