Super 60s play at encore Top of the Grade Concert in Saluda, Oct. 9

Saludians are reluctant to give up on their outdoor concerts at the Top of the Grade at McCreery Park in Saluda and have organized an encore concert for Friday, Oct. 9 from 6-8 p.m. on the Ella Grace Mintz stage. The 2015 Top of the Grade concert series produced by Peter Eisenbrown of Block Party Productions completed its season on Sept. 11.

Playing at this encore event will be The Super 60s, a musical retrospective of one of America’s most turbulent periods. The joy and celebration of Woodstock, the enigma of Vietnam, the tragic loss of the Kennedys, and man landing on the moon — a period of time in which so much was happening, so fast, that those of us who lived through it sometimes wonder how we made it. Their music will bring back the feeling and memories of those days — not only through music, but also through their visual techniques that were relevant in that period.

So turn on your lava lamp, light some incense, throw on your bell bottoms, slip on your tie-dye shirt, put on your dancing shoes, and take a trip with The Super 60s in Saluda at Top of the Grade at McCreery Park in October.

Bring your chairs or blankets, food and coolers; wine and beer are permitted in the park area only. Event is rain or shine, and concerts will move to the Pavilion if it is raining. The events are free to the public, and a suggested donation of $5 is appreciated and tax deductible. Proceeds will go toward funds needed to improve lighting in McCreery Park.

The Top of the Grade concerts are organized by the Saluda Downtown Foundation promotions team to carry out the vision of Saluda becoming a four season destination for both local residents and visitors.
