PRO Physical Therapy starts healthy aging series Sept. 1

Published 5:40 pm Friday, August 28, 2015

PRO Physical Therapy & Fitness Center is celebrating throughout the month of September in preparation for National Physical Therapy Month in October, with a special series on healthy aging.  We will host a guest speaker at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday evening in September. The healthy aging Series is free and everyone is invited to attend.

Our first program, Physical Therapy – A to Z, will be hosted by Erin Alley, MPT and Dan LaPlaca, Med, ATC, PT on Sept. 1. They will discuss common ailments and how they can be treated with physical therapy. This is your opportunity to come and ask questions and discuss the common myths, misunderstandings and misconceptions that often keep people from seeking physical therapy first. If you are dealing with pain or discomfort and are not sure what to do, they can explain what a therapist’s approach might be and how physical therapy may be able to help.

Physical therapists are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. Physical therapists examine each individual and develop a plan of care using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Physical therapists also work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility by developing fitness – and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

We are proud of the rehabilitation services we have to offer for the community,” said Dan LaPlaca, MEd., ATC, PT, Co-Owner, PRO Physical Therapy, Inc.
