Missing Campobello kayaker drowned

A missing kayaker in Campobello was found dead from drowning on Tuesday, June 23.

Christopher Keith, 23, of Campobello was found Tuesday morning in a private pond on Bridle Break Drive off Old Mill Road, according to reports.

The search for Keith began Monday.

Investigators said Keith’s body was recovered just feet from the end of the dock.

The coroner said toxicology results are pending as well as an exact cause of death.

Along with the coroner’s office, the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office are also investigating the death.
