Lillian Lindsey Kitchen, 61, of Green River Cove Road, Saluda died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at her home.

Born in Greenville County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Rettie Watson Lindsey. She was a graduate of West Henderson High School, class of l971.  Lillian worked for many years for General Electric, Hendersonville, N.C. and later for Polk County School System. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Columbus, N.C.

Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Kenneth T. Kitchen; two sons, Kenneth Russell Kitchen (Khristina) of Tryon, N.C. and William Joseph “Joey” Kitchen (Candace) of Byron, Ga.; three sisters, Lois Duncan (Steven) of Landrum, S.C., Joann McMinn (Buddy) of Fletcher, N.C. and Barbara Taylor (Jimmy) of Fletcher, N.C. and a brother, Ray Lindsey (Violet) of Fletcher, N.C. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Kayla, Kendra, Khloe, Kelton, and Kaiden Kitchen and Matthew and Mason Kitchen.

Family received friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 26, 2015 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Columbus, N.C. with Pastor Brian Wilson officiating.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, N.C.
