Athens’ newly crowned pop-sweetheart, singer/songwriter WrennPop, will be performing with guitarist Chris Padgett at Tryon Fine Arts Center’s Peterson Amphitheater, 34 Melrose Avenue, Thursday, May 28 at 8 p.m.

Between playing some of the premier music venues in the Southeast, her nationally recognized beat-boxing, showcasing her artistic ability both on and off the stage, and the recent release of her debut album, “Hi,” WrennPop has made her mark on the music scene and is a rare talent you cannot help but notice.

Playing with WrennPop is guitarist Chris Padgett. Leo Kottke, Al Di Meola and Clarence White are just a few guitar players that come to mind when you hear Chris Padgett play with his classical, Flamenco, American Primitivism, and folk, syncopated finger picking style, thrash flat-picking, and unique voice.

Critics say, “always an amazing performance and a real treat in a world of so many synonymous solo performers.”
Admission is free and open to the public. The program will move indoors in the event of rain. Please leave dogs and coolers at home. Donations are gratefully accepted at the door. For more information, please visit www.tryonarts.org or call 828-859-8322.
