The Wilhelm Brothers, the rising stars of indie folk rock from Asheville will be bringing their show to Tryon Fine Arts Center’s Peterson Amphitheater, 34 Melrose Ave., on Thursday, May 21 at 8 p.m.

The group formed in Asheville in July 2012 with chemistry and musical sparks flying and combines the singer/songwriter talents of Chris Wilhelm (guitar/lead vocals) with the sonic beauty and skill of cellist Christof Ensslin (cello/vocal harmonies and tambourine). Their sound emphasizes love of a good story delivered in song and employs folk, roots and indie influences. The music is infectious and insightful.

For the past two years, the group has played over 200 shows per year, up and down the East Coast from NYC to Philadelphia to Atlanta to the Carolinas and more. Chris Wilhelm, originally from Hudson, N.Y., a voracious performer is always ready for more shows. Cristof Ensslin, originally from Esslingen, Germany, has over 10 years of cello experience and has played with numerous orchestras and chamber music ensembles.
