Polk District Court results for May 6

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 with Judge Emily Cowan presiding, 143 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Sarah Beth Brown was convicted of larceny by trick. Brown was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time served and court costs.

Jerome Joseph Cox was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Cox was fined $50 and court costs.

Shartari Shant Dirton was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Dirton was fined $30 and court costs.

Timothy Glenn Garren was convicted of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance. Garren was fined $50 and court costs.

Julia Ann Gillum was convicted of possession of paraphernalia. Gillum was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Willie Sanders Lynch was convicted of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance. Lynch was to pay court costs.

Sharon Rose Mathis was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Mathis was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.

Robert Daniel Stepp was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Stepp was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.

Janice Marie Storey was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Storey was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
