Kathy L. Hyatt, age 59, of Spartanburg, S.C. entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.

Ms. Hyatt was born August 31, 1955 in Asheville, and lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daughter of late J.C. and Nelle Tessner Hyatt.  Kathy worked as an EMT-Paramedic in Polk County and retired as a R.N. from Haywood Regional Medical Center in 2000.

Surviving are her sister, Donna Hyatt Gilbert and husband John of Mill Spring; two brothers, J.C. Hyatt, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Columbia, S.C, Tim Hyatt and wife Mary of Black Mountain; nephews, Justin C. Hyatt and T. Cody Hyatt; and niece, Sarah J. Gilbert.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Robert Orr officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
