Before joining the Mediation Center, she was employed as manager of Instructor Programs and Events for ChiLiving in Asheville. Earlier, she worked as the volunteer recruiter for the UNC Hospitals Platelet Donor Program in Chapel Hill, and she interned with the Haywood County non-profit Folkmoot USA.

Cooper has bachelors’ degrees in English and history from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. During her time at Chapel Hill, she discovered her passion for non-profit work through the UNC Hospitals Platelet Donor Program, where she worked collaboratively with the university and the hospital to expand program awareness and increase the number of volunteer donors.

Upon graduation, she worked for Folkmoot USA where she focused on non-profit marketing, content writing, and event management, and where she began learning about non-profit development and fundraising.

Cooper is a native of Asheville, returning to her hometown after college graduation to pursue a career in non-profits and a life in the mountains. She enjoys “reading, backpacking, gardening, and growing her knowledge and experience of the non-profit community.”
