The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is warning everyone to be extremely careful when answering calls they do not recognize. A new telephone scam has begun targeting customers of Verizon Wireless. These calls are being generated from 919-555-5050 and are claiming to be a representative of Verizon Wireless.

They are asking for personal information including social security numbers. This is an attempt to use your identity for their personal financial gain. Do not give any of your information out.
