Polk County District Court results for Sept. 3

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Sept. 3, with Judge Emily Cowan presiding, 165 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

William Brent Bassett was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Bassett was fined $30 and court costs.

James Edward Bray III was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Bray was fined $92 and court costs.

Alonzo Cecil Burkes was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. Burkes was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Andres Cao Jr. was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Cao was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served and court costs.

Bryan Ross Cooper was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Cooper was fined $30 and court costs.

Fu Ekta was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Ekta was fined $50 and court costs.

James Patrick Foley was convicted of impaired equipment. Foley was fined $40 and court costs.

Matthew Wayne Greene was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Greene was fined $30 and court costs.

Gwenellyn Jackson was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jackson was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Terry Wayne Johnson was convicted of misdemeanor larceny. Johnson was sentenced to six days in jail with credit for time served.

Terry Gene King was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. King was sentenced to 24 days in jail with credit for time served.

Christopher Brian Lee was convicted of cancelled/revoked/suspended certification/tag. Lee was fined $75 and court costs.

Allison Swartz Quinn was convicted of expired registration card/tag, expired/no inspection, driving left of center and level five driving while impaired. Quinn was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $25 fine and court costs for tag/inspection violations and driving left of center and sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs for driving while impaired.

Edgar Omar Sanchez was convicted of failure to yield-yield sign. Sanchez was to pay court costs.

Fontair Demont Simmons was convicted of misdemeanor larceny. Simmons was sentenced to six days in jail with credit for time served.
