Marc Reece Reeves, 60, of Tryon, N.C. passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, S.C.
Born in Richmond, Calif., he was the son of Betty Sorensen Reeves and the late Hiram Reece Reeves. A man of many artistic talents, Marc restored classic cars during his working life. He was a longtime outdoorsman enjoying fishing and camping. Marc’s outdoor pursuits sparked a passion for local history in the Foothills. An avid sports fan he loved the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and had embraced the Carolina Panthers as a new home team.
Survivors include his mother, Betty J. Reeves of Hingham, Mass.; one sister, Mia Doyle (Fran) of Norwell, Mass.; two daughters, Renee Reeves McGrath (Todd) of Prospect Heights, Ill. and Taylor Reeves of Prospect Heights, Ill.; as well as two grandchildren, Emerson McGrath and Harper McGrath.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C.
The family will receive friends with a reception to follow the service.
