What a shame

To the editor:
The 4th of July festival has been a great event for the towns’ people and visiting guests to bring their families to for years.
We are Americans. I thought we had worked hard through the years to try and put aside racism, bigotry and disrespect of others and especially for the “President of the United States of America”.
What example is this county seat showing those that visit and live in this town?
Regardless of what party line each of us votes for, this should not have happened.
Why did the event planners allow such a hateful display by the Republican Party? If the event planners did not know this was going to happen, they should have asked for the booth to be taken down early in the day.
I would have thought any town employee would have better sense than to display such hatred and lack of respect to the locals and those visiting our festival.
What a shame!
