Robert P. Laborde, MD, retina specialist, eye surgeon and founder of Laborde Eye Group in Hendersonville, N.C. announced that his office would be expanding their services to Polk County. As part of a new affiliation with Edney Eye Associates in Columbus, the Laborde Eye Group began seeing new patients from the Polk, Rutherfordton and Upstate S.C. region on June 25. “Dr. Edney and I have shared many mutual patients over the years,” says Dr. Robert P. Laborde. “He and I both see the need for continued quality eye care in the foothills. Dr. Edney and his staff have been very welcoming to Laborde Eye Group.”
Dr. Stephen J. Capps, MD, MPH of Laborde Eye Group is accepting new patients at the Columbus location, with appointments available on the fourth Wednesday of every month. New patients will be accepted with or without a referral from an eye doctor. This will be the fifth location for Laborde Eye Group, with four other offices in Hendersonville, Asheville, Burnsville and Spruce Pine, N.C.
Both Dr. Laborde and Dr. Capps are fellows of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and fully credentialed at Park Ridge Health and Pardee Hospital.
Dr. Capps has over 20 years of experience with cataract surgery, complex glaucoma and general ophthalmology, and is a board-certified ER physician and Ophthalmologist. Dr. Capps joined Laborde Eye Group in March of 2013.
