Donkey and Shrek – an unlikely pair

Published 10:00pm Wednesday, June 18, 2014

“What did I do to deserve this?” says Shrek. “This ass ‘o mine is asinine!”
An unlikely pair, an ogre and a donkey, although the actors above don’t look like their characters—yet.  But just you wait.
Tryon Little Theater and Tryon Youth Center’s summer production this year is “Shrek the Musical”, and all hands are on deck pulling this show together.
Lena Duncan, Musical Director, puts James Riedy (left – a.k.a. Donkey) and Price Marshall (right – a.k.a. Shrek) through their musical paces at a recent rehearsal at the TLT Workshop.
The show opens July 10 at the Tryon Fine Arts Center.  Tickets go on sale June 30 at the Workshop box office. Call TLT at 828-859-2466 or visit www.tltinfo.org for more information.
