About the Artist: Born in Guatemala to a family of artists and art collectors, Pat grew up surrounded by masterpieces. The indigenous weavings from Guatemala, Panama and the Philippines, where she has resided, have contributed to ingrain in her a deep sense of color and texture.
Pat trained as a teacher in Guatemala and as a registered nurse in the United States. Now happily retired, in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, she is fully dedicated to her art.
She has participated in numerous exhibits in Maryland and in North Carolina and has been the recipient of several awards. Her paintings can be found in private collections in the United States and occasionally in gallery shows. Pat is currently focused on acrylics and mixed media and loves to experiment with different techniques.
Artist’s Statement:  Painting to me is a form of meditation that takes me to a place unconstrained by boundaries; a place that is saturated with vibrant colors, textures and shapes that seem to flow from within as I apply them to the canvas. The process of painting becomes intuitive as I allow those eneries to guide me in the creation of my work. Mainly self-taught as an artist and passionate about my art, I love to experiment and continue to learn with each piece I create while traveling on a never ending and unpredictable journey.
