Tales that have strengthened my heart

Published 10:00 pm Thursday, April 24, 2014

On Monday I completed a 4 hour stress test at Park Ridge Hospital and next Sunday I’ll receive a PET scan. Thus far all arrows point up, I’m feeling great and I’m almost back to my normal weight again.  So when asked “How do I feel?” and I answer “great”, I mean it.
mojo-001Macho went back home with Adam after a successful operation last week.  He’ll need a few months of gentle care as he gets stronger, but I’m sure Adam is up to the task.  As Adam says, “My house is complete again now that Macho is back.” Dr. Allen brought a $3,900 bill down to $3,000 and almost apologetically said, “That’s the best I can do, Lennie.” I love that man, besides, the best he can do he did for Macho. I met a lady at Upstate specialists who asked if I was Lennie.  I said I was and introduced her to Macho. Upon leaving Dr. Allen said, “Your bill is now $2.900, that lady left $100 towards Macho’s care.”
I received emails all the time but two came in this week and as the title says “have strengthened my heart”.  I hope all of you remember Soldier, I for one will never forget him, here goes:

#1:  Hi, hope all is well with you.  We are doing great here, nice weather outside.  Soldier loves going into the chicken and rabbit pen, at first I thought OMG.  But he’s a good boy and doesn’t even bother them.  Busy here, more later.

#2: Hi again, how have u been? Everything is going fine here we enjoy soldier so much.  Lily loves playing with him.  He likes going into her room with her stuffed animals.
I don’t blame him. I’d like chewing their eyes and noses off too.  If you get the itch to come and see him, you’re more than welcome to. Please keep in touch. – Diana
As promised we have been keeping in touch on mojo’s progress. Our last email to adopt a golden, knoxville read: so t’s been a month since our last update.  How is our boy doing now?
The answer came back last week. He is doing good.
He had surgery at U.T. last Tuesday,  they amputated his abnormal penis and placed an artificial urethral sphincter port system…it uses a silicon cuff (like a blood pressure cuff), which is placed around the urethra near the bladder.
He has quite a large incision where they removed his penis and fixed that whole area. His staples come out next week.
He has been dripping a lot less and has not worn a diaper the last day or two, which is great. I never thought I’d see the day that Mojo didn’t have to wear a diaper!
All thoughts and prayers for this sweet boy have been working; I just pray he keeps making a full recovery.  Thanks for asking about him.
Have a nice day, Jessica.
