Polk County District Court Results for March 31 and April 2

March 31, 2014 session:
In Polk County District Court on March 31, 2014, with Judge Athena Brooks presiding, 99 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Donald Roy Gilbert was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Gilbert as fined $30 and court costs.
Roy Edward Gwinn was convicted of open container. Gwinn was fined $25 and court costs.
Casey Ryan Johnson was convicted of level one driving while impaired. Johnson was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, 30 days in jail, a $300 fine and court costs.
Samantha R. Kowalske was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Kowalske was fined $30 and court costs.
Jose Luis Leon-Ortiz was convicted of two counts of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Leon-Ortiz was fined $30 and court costs.
Kent Kendrick B. Long was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Long was fined $30 and court costs.
Chad Allen Painter was convicted of assault on a female. Painter was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.
Ryan Lance Price was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Price was fined $30 and court costs.
Corey Blythe Roberts was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Roberts was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.
Donna Black Robertson was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Robertson was fined $30 and court costs.
Sean Michael Soehl was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Soehl was sentenced to 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Robin Warren Thompson was convicted of trespass on railroad right of way and attempted larceny. Thompson was sentenced to 12 months supervised probation.
James Anthony Wilder was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Wilder was to pay court costs.

April 2, 2014 session:
In Polk County District Court on April 2, 2014, with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 100 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Justin Ian Burnett was convicted of misdemeanor larceny. Burnett was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Tammi Allen Davis was convicted of open container after consumption of alcohol first. Davis was fined $25 and court costs.
Pablo Monte Hernandez was convicted of no operator’s license. Hernandez was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Jason Franklin Kempton was convicted of felony probation violation. Kempton was sentenced to 90 days in jail.
David August Schneider was convicted of driving while license revoked. Schneider was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Alfred Sellers III was convicted of intoxicated and disruptive and open container malt beverage/unfortified wine on city/county owned property. Sellers was sentenced to 21 days in jail with credit for time served.
Robert Joseph Tevay II was convicted of failure to comply with monies and failure to appear on misdemeanor.
Tevay was sentenced to five days in jail with six days of credit.
David William Waite Jr. was convicted of operating a vehicle with impaired equipment. Waite was fined $40 and court costs.
