Due to the schedule conflicts of Spring Break and Easter, Slow Food Foothills will meet earlier than normal for its’ April potluck. This month’s potluck will be held Sunday, April 6 at Giardini Trattoria from 4:30-6:30 p.m. This will be their first outdoor potluck of the year in Giardini’s outdoor pavillion so please dress appropriately. One of Polk County’s original Farm to Table Restaurants, attendees will be dining al fresco next to the latest of Giardini’s projects, fresca.
The new, gourmet take-out market and gelateria located just behind the restaurant will be open immediately following the potluck for tours and will be selling scoops of their artisanal gelato. Giardini is located at 2411 NC 108 Hwy E in Columbus.
Beer and wine will be available for purchase. There is no theme this month but, as with all potlucks, please bring a local, seasonal dish to share along with tableware (plates, bowls, silverware, napkins).
With each dish, please bring a description denoting dishes that are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free (for people with dietary restrictions or food allergies) plus denote use of any local ingredients. Recipes are also encouraged, as many people like to share.
Slow Food Foothills is a sub-chapter of Slow Food Asheville and part of an international organization that promotes fresh, clean and fair food for all.
This potluck is free and open to all members of the community.
