Polk Co. sheriff’s office arrests escaped convict from Delaware

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested Richard James Taylor, who had escaped Morris Community Correctional Center in Delaware.

The sheriff’s office arrested Taylor on Dec. 31 after discovering him at 21 Hoot Owl Lane in Mill Spring.

Taylor escaped the Department of Corrections in Kent County, Delaware on or about Aug. 29, according to sheriff reports. He was convicted of drug dealing in the superior court of New Castle County, Delaware, on July 15, 2013, according to reports.

Taylor failed to return to Morris Community Correctional Center from an approved pass that had expired.

Taylor was placed at the Polk County Jail awaiting officers from the state of Delaware to transport him.
