Tree decorating, Foothills Children’s Chorus at Sunnydale

Published 10:00 pm Tuesday, December 3, 2013

Make Sunnydale part of your Tryon stroll on Friday night, Dec. 6, and help trim the Christmas Tree.

To get into the spirit of the season, the Foothills Children’s Chorus will be kicking off events at 6 p.m. with a short concert of holiday songs. Children, between the ages of 8 and 13 are directed by Tena Greene.

Afterwards, with Pam McNeil at the piano, audience members are encouraged to gather around the fireplace, exercise your enthusiastic voices and join her for caroling. There will be a craft table for kids to make ornaments to take home, or hang on the tree. Cookies and hot drinks will be available for everyone.

Attendees should bring their cameras – outfits are on loan from TLT’s costume department for dressing up and taking Christmas photos by the tree.

Doors are open at 5:30 p.m. and there is no charge for this event — but if possible bring a candy cane, or a handmade or hand-me-down ornament for the tree. This event is a great way to end the day and begin a wondrous season with friends and neighbors—reviving the magic of a community Christmas.

Sunndyale is located at 334 South Trade St. in Tryon (next to the Dollar General).
