Cardinals narrowly lose to Pendleton

Landrum’s football team was dealt a disappointing loss on the road Friday, Nov. 1 against Pendleton, leaving the Cardinals to settle for a third-place tie with Crescent in Region 2-A.

The first quarter was slow moving for both teams with Pendleton posting only a field goal to go up 3-0 over the Cardinals. Pendleton truly found its momentum in the second quarter putting up 28 points, while Landrum still couldn’t get on the scoreboard.

In the third quarter, Landrum pushed its way onto the scoreboard for seven points and added another 6 in the fourth. Overall LHS posted 364 total yards to Pendleton’s 382.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t be enough to overcome Pendleton’s scoring drive in the second and third quarters for a 45-13 victory.
