Craft classes each Thursday at The Meeting Place senior center

Published 7:46 pm Monday, October 14, 2013

Each Thursday at 12:30 p.m., Emily Skipper and Patty Owens present a unique craft project to be completed within the class time (approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour).

Over the past few weeks we have created decoupage tiles, trinket boxes, decorative birdhouses and self-portrait collages.

For Oct. 17, the group will “step into the past.” If you missed a project, you can take this time to complete it.

If you are working on a self-portrait collage, bring photos, poems, ribbons, buttons, etc. that reflect treasured memories. Materials for the tiles, boxes and birdhouses are supplied.

For Oct. 24, the group will get ready for Halloween. Decorating miniature pumpkins is on the agenda. Whether it’s bats, cats, hats or just whatever lets your pumpkin’s inner spirit shine forth, create a fabulous gourd for the season.

There will be no craft classes on Oct. 31.

For the Halloween Party, produce a great costume and come to The Meeting Place at 11:30 a.m. for lunch and festivities. There will be a prize for the best costume.
