Senior Chief Petty Officer Roy William Smith died Aug. 22, 2013.

Survivors include children, Tim (Betty) Smith of Mattapoisett, MA, Rev. Traci Smith-Bennett (Wally) of Spartanburg and Jeff (Melissa) Smith of Williamston; brother, Carl Smith of Green Creek; sister, Vivian Smith of Green Creek; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was held Aug. 25.
