Let’s talk business

Mentors should be motivated by nothing more than the desire to help. A mentor’s role is not to advise, but rather to provide a different way of thinking. Mentoring is not intended to tell you what to do, simply offering another perspective based on experience.

In today’s business world, business owners must wear many hats. You not only need to be an expert in your product or service, you also need knowledge in accounting, budgeting, personnel matters, marketing, advertising, sales and legal issues relating to your business.

The local SCORE branch has successfully served a wide variety of clients of Polk County. If you own a business or are thinking of starting a business you have multiple local resources to assist you, including the Polk County Economic and Tourism Development Commission, Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce and local SCORE representatives.
