Frances Pace

Frances Alvere Morgan Pace, 88, Columbus, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 in White Oak Manor, Tryon.

Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Angie Russell Morgan and was the widow of Calvin Pace, who died in 2012.

Mrs. Pace retired from N.C.N.B in Columbus and volunteered for Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry. She was well known for her baking, sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Columbus Baptist Church where she had served as treasurer for many years.

Surviving are: two sons, Michael C. Pace (Donna) of Landrum and Joe Pace of Columbus; one brother, Glenn Morgan of Saluda; three sisters, Elsie Pace of Saluda, Joyce Reid and Wilma Campbell both of Flat Rock, N.C. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Cameron and Christopher Pace.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 in Columbus Baptist Church, Columbus, with Rev. Robert Capps and Rev. Tim Friar officiating.

Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. in Columbus Baptist Church.
