Robert Kolbe Stuedell, 85, of Tryon passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his home.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harry and Gretchen Kolbe Stuedell. Mr. Stuedell was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, serving in World War II in the 82nd Airborne. He moved to Tryon in 1990 from Lisle, Ill. Mr. Stuedell enjoyed listening to jazz music, as well as playing the trumpet. He was a former member and president of the Lions Club of Columbus.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Joan Stuedell; two sons, David Stuedell of Los Alamos, N.M. and Tim “Duke” Stuedell of Madison, Wis.; one sister, June Masek of Eastlake, Ohio; four grandchildren, Austin, Amber, Bryan and Brooke.
At Mr. Stuedell’s request, no services are planned
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, N.C. 28722
