Saluda city officials are coordinating the building of a temporary stage, which will be replaced by a permanent stage if the series proves successful.  To help fund these concerts, the Saluda Business Association has sponsored $2,500, and is seeking 100-dollar donations from other businesses.

Jackson noted that Hendersonville has its Music on Main program, while Tryon has Summer Tracks. Now, Saluda can host its own concerts.

Sound Investment, which will appear each second Friday for the remainder of the series, reproduces classic rock and roll from the 60s, 70s and a bit of the 80s. Kevin Filson plays bass and sings lead vocals and backup harmonies. Rick Gunderson plays lead guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals. Drummer Michael Leyshon and backup and lead singer/guitarist/keyboard player Rodney Gibson complete the quartet.

The next concert, on July 26, will feature “Us and Gus.”

“We’re excited, “ said Jackson. “It’s going to take time to evolve.”
