Geraldine Parker Edwards, 74, of Tryon, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 in White Oak Manor of Tryon.

Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Parker and Dolly Scruggs Parker and widow of Tench T. Edwards. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is one daughter, Evey Jean Dowdy of Brevard, N.C.; and one son, John Kevin Pack (Diana) of Mill Spring. Also surviving are five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Memorials service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, N.C. 28722.

The family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor and Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their compassion.
