Polk loses 59 – 44 to Avery in WHC Tournament

“We start off pretty well in the first quarter but then went cold from the field the rest of the game,” Coach Josh McEntire said. “We missed a lot of easy looks. We played decent defense throughout most of the game and kept the game close. It was still at 5 or 6 points midway in the fourth quarter but we just could not make shots. They finally pulled away at the end when we had to start fouling”

Polk still has a chance to make the state playoffs. They are scheduled to meet Owen in a “play-in” game this Friday at Mountain Heritage (a neutral site). The time of the game is undetermined as of yet, further details will be made available online.

Game stats

Polk 13, 8, 7, 16 – 44

Avery 15, 13, 10, 21 — 59

Polk – Tanner 16, Philpott 11, Carson 5, Chody 4, Stockdale 4 and Smith 4
