- Polk County’s B-team, from the age 7-8 league, won first place in the Landrum Babe Ruth baseball tournament May 5. Polk County Youth Baseball/Softball league sign ups begin Saturday Feb. 2 from 10 a.m. - noon at Polk Recreation Complex at the Polk Middle School and from noon – 2 p.m. at Harmon Field. Sign ups will also be held the same times and locations Saturday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 16. Parents are asked to bring their child’s birth certificate to registration.
