Norman Samuel Waddell

Norman Samuel Waddell, 69, of 1240 Cudd Drive Chesnee, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, at Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, S.C.

Norman was born in Spartanburg on March 15, 1943, a son of the late Era Etolia Godfrey Waddell Morgan and Fred Waddell, and was the stepson of the late Brice Morgan. He was formerly employed at Metromont Materials and Pet Dairy and was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War era.

He is survived by two sons, Scott Waddell of Spartanburg and Todd Waddell and wife, Jen, of Chesnee, S.C.; a daughter, Ashley W. Miller and husband, Wayne, of Boiling Springs, S.C.; sisters, Gail Jones of Rutherfordton, Nancy Rollins of Beech Island, S.C.; brothers, Curtis Waddell of Sumter, S.C. and Darryl Morgan of Chesnee, S.C.; grandchildren, Will Waddell and Gavin Miller; and special friend, Brenda Cannon of Inman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Vickie Waddell Huntley and Violet Ruth Waddell.

The family wants to extend a very special thank you to Peggie Green, RN for the special care she gave to Norman as well as the care she gave the family.

The family is at the home of his daughter at 153 Beaver Creek Drive, Chesnee and will receive friends Tuesday, Jan. 29 noon until 1 p.m. at Seawright Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, with Rev. Michael Owenby and Rev. Frankie Taylor officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, Wellford, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Home 686 Jeff Davis Drive Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.
