Saluda Arts Festival calls for entriesPublished 5:17pm Monday, January 7, 2013
Aiming to celebrate Saluda’s heritage and arts culture, the Saluda Business Association plans to hold its 10th annual Saluda Arts Festival May 18 and is currently seeking entries.
“Ten years is a milestone for this grassroots arts festival that started with only 18 artists and has now grown to 60 artisans stretching along historic Main Street in Saluda. Every art media is represented including paintings, pottery, metal work, jewelry, sculptures, fiber, and more,” said festival organizers.
With a non-jury event, festival organizers expect a large number of entries. Some types of work (i.e. jewelry) will be accepted on a limited basis. Early entries will be given first choice of booth location.
Applications for participation can be downloaded from the www.saluda.com web site or by contacting Susie Welsh at 828-749-3900 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications are due by March 15.
“Saluda abounds with natural assets. It’s our duty to the heritage of Saluda to celebrate and promote its artistic culture, historic buildings and the natural beauty of our mountains and waterfalls,” said SBA spokesperson Cathy Jackson.
