Frank B. Johnson

Frank Johnson, age 89, of Mill Spring, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Frank was born to the late Robert Lee Johnson and Sallie Mae Garrett, January 16, 1923, in Polk County. He graduated from Mill Spring High School and joined the Army Air Corp, serving in WWII. He married Esther Clement Johnson in 1945 and they were married for 60 years. Frank worked for the US Postal Service and served as an accountant for the Polk County Courthouse. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Mill Spring.

Frank is survived by his two children, Carolyn Elaine Johnson and Michael Lee Johnson, as well as two grandchildren, Eric Lee Johnson and Crystal Elaine Johnson.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 9 at Faith Baptist Church in Mill Spring. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A meal will be served following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to Faith Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC.
