In Polk County District Court held Dec. 31, 2012, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 30 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are printed as they appear in court records):

Calvin Lee Allen was convicted of speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone and driving while license revoked. Allen was sentenced to 15 days in jail with credit for time served.

Thomas Michael Cunningham was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cunningham was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time served.

Kelly Jerome Davis was convicted of littering not greater than 15 lbs. Davis was fined $350 and court costs.
