Chapman was able to hold onto the lead in the third quarter until Coach Lyn Smith for Landrum received a technical foul. The foul seemed to change the momentum in the Cardinals’ favor and they came back to take the lead. The Cardinals were not able to keep the lead and ended the third quarter down by one point 56-55. In the fourth quarter the Cardinals were in a zone defense and had the lead 62-60 with 1:29 left in the game. Chapman spread their offense out and stalled the game trying to get Landrum’s defense away from the basket. The Cardinal defense held together and kept Chapman from scoring in the last seconds.

Debo Samuel led Chapman in scoring with 20 points and Talin Bonds both. Chris Schulman led Landrum with 24 points, including four 3-point shots. Daniel Bridges and Trusten Whiteside both had 10 points each. Landrum’s next game is Friday, Jan. 4 at Carolina High School.
