Kindermusik and art classes return to Tryon Fine Arts Center Jan. 12

Registration is currently underway for the winter sessions of Kindermusik for young children taught by Bryant Belin and oil painting for teens taught by artist Margaret Curtis.

Classes will begin Saturday, Jan. 12 and go through March 9.

The oil painting class for middle and high school students is the second in a series of three planned sessions over the course of this academic year, which explores the fundamentals of oil painting, beginning with color theory and color mixing from the primaries. Curtis will help students focus on the difference between color and value, and how to use value to create a sense of volume. They will also explore the principles of composition, working from still life and the figure.  Basic supplies needed for the course are covered with the tuition price.

Kindermusik Educator Bryant Belin will lead families with children ages newborn to 7 in a curriculum called “Our Kind of Day.”
