Making room for real Christmas story

Published 10:45pm Monday, December 17, 2012

To the editor:

Are we not fortunate that our county seat was laid out with four corners reserved for churches?

And that churches were indeed built on three of them.

And that since Columbus Baptist built their building with a large set-back to preserve the lovely trees for the squirrels to play in, there is room for a large display of the real Christmas story for everyone to see and enjoy while waiting for the light to change.

And that therefore there is no need to upset those who feel that to put such a display on the courthouse lawn would imply sponsorship of a religion by the government.
