Mary Kathleen Norris

Mary Kathleen Norris, 78, of Misery Ridge Trail, Mill Spring, N.C. died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at her home.

Born in Mt. Juliet, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Gordon C. Thompson and Mary Graves Thompson Coolman.

She moved to Polk County in l986 coming from Hendersonville, N.C.

Surviving are her husband Wilbert Neil Norris, Sr.; children, Janie L. Wagner of Mill Spring; Bobby L. Phillips and David Metcalf of Hendersonville, N.C.; Gregory L. Phillips and Deborah Phillips of Dana, N.C. and Tamela P. Roberts and Leslie Roberts of Mooresboro, N.C.; and a sister, Ginny Ritcherson of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Sherry Cotton, Michael Phillips, Heather Sanders, Jeremy Phillips, Kandy Isenhour, Amanda Carden, Jessy Justice, Melia Roberts and Harley Roberts; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Landreth, Shayna Landreth, Mia Sullivan, Waylon Carden, Haylee Phillips, Megan Phillips, Karlie Phillips, Makayla Phillips, Mayson Justice, Heidi Justice and Kyler (Kyboy) Buckner; and her many beloved pets.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.

Burial will follow the service in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus.

Visitation will be held prior to funeral services from 1 – 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon.
