Quietly Linus replied: “Well, for one thing, you have a little brother who loves you.”

With that, Lucy ran over and hugged her little brother crying tears of joy. And as Linus was enjoying her unexpected affection, he said: “Every now and then, I say the right thing.”

God cares for us even in the difficult times. And when we can give thanks, life is different, even when it’s hard. We worship a God who loves us, even in our self-centeredness and imperfection. John Newton was right. Grace is “amazing.”

Thanksgiving is special, but thanksgiving should be every day.

And the holiday season is an especially good time to remember all those who have been instruments of God’s love in our lives.
