Polk district court results

In Polk County District Court held Wednesday, Aug. 15 with Judge Mack Brittain presiding, 133 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are given as they appear in court records):
Dillon Reno Alexander was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Alexander was fined $40 and court costs.
Justin Lee Carroll was convicted of operating a vehicle with impaired equipment. Carroll was fined $40 and court costs.
Michael D. Cook was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Cook was fined $40 and court costs.
Jeana Owens Crofts was convicted of speeding 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. Crofts was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $90 fine and court costs.
Ginger Luckadoo Crook was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Crook was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $25 fine and court costs.
Esteban Salvador Cruz was convicted of operating a vehicle with no operator’s license. Cruz was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.
John Kenned Fitzgerald was convicted of level 2 driving while impaired. Fitzgerald was sentenced to 18 months unsupervised probation, seven days in jail, a $400 fine and court costs.
Kevin William Flodin was convicted of a texting/email violation in a motor vehicle. Flodin was fined $100 and court costs.
Misty Conner Frady was convicted of unsafe movement and failure to wear seat belt – driver. Frady was fined $50 and court costs.
Norman Alfred Goodwin was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Goodwin was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
William Randal Matson was convicted of speeding 83 mph in a 65 mph zone. Matson was fined $30 and court costs.
Larry Travis Mills was convicted of unsafe passing on a yellow line. Mills was to pay court costs.
Gabriel Dav Mingorance was convicted of speeding 105 mph in a 65 mph zone. Mingorance was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $105 fine and court costs.
Dakota Sarra Mitchell was convicted of operating a vehicle with impaired equipment. Mitchell was fined $40 and court costs.
Jayve J. Montgomery Jr. was convicted of speeding 97 mph in a 65 mph zone. Montgomery was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $97 fine and court costs.
David O’Neal was convicted of felony probation violation out of county. O’Neal was sentenced to 90 days at the N.C. Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
Robert Lamar Phillips was convicted of level 4 driving while impaired. Phillips was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 48 hours in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.
Matthew Vincent Ruland was convicted of speeding 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. Ruland was fined $90 and court costs.
Floyd Eugene Smith was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Smith was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
