Polk cheerleaders named All-Americans

Published 6:11pm Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Polk County cheerleaders Kaleigh McMurray, Aliyha Mullins and McKayla Mullis were named All-American cheerleaders, achieving the national ranking at a cheerleading camp. The honor qualifies Mullins and Mullis to perform in London and McMurray to perform in Philadelphia (the London event is for juniors and seniors, while the Philadelphia event is for ninth and tenth graders). Coach Jane Ollis said because of the expense the girls will not attend the events, but that it is an honor for them to have achieved All-American status. (photo submitted by Jane Ollis)
