Polk district court results

In Polk County District Court held Wednesday, Aug. 8, with Judge David K. Fox presiding, 84 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are given as they appear in court records):
Katelyn Jean Atkins was convicted of speeding 92 mph in a 65 mph zone. Atkins was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $92 fine and court costs.
Marco Anthony Cabrera was convicted of speeding 81 mph in a 65 mph zone and operating a vehicle with no operator’s license. Cabrera was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Karrie Leigh Kight was convicted of two counts of misdemeanor probation violation. Kight was sentenced to 75 days in jail with credit for pretrial time served.
Roderick Leo McCormick was convicted of operating a vehicle with no operator’s license and speeding 94 mph in a 65 mph zone. McCormick was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $94 fine and court costs.
Benjamin Leon Mullins was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Mullins was fined $30 and court costs.
Turner Morrison Rouse was convicted of speeding 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. Rouse was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $91 fine and court costs.
Amy Marie Yancey was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired and speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Yancey was sentenced to 24 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service with credit for 24 hours of community service with pretrial time, a $200 fine and court costs.
Brandy Lashea Benjamin was convicted of driving while license revoked. Benjamin was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $75 fine and court costs.
