Tryon Country Club holds mixed scramble, TWGA events
Published 7:24pm Monday, June 11, 2012Tryon Country Club recently held its Memorial Day Mixed Scramble, and the Tryon Women’s Golf Association (TWGA) held its President’s Bowl low-net tournament and its monthly Wing Ding. The results were as follows:
Memorial Day Mixed Scramble
First: Peggy Henson, Bill Kelly, Becky and Russ Walker with a net score of 27
Second: Jerry Perry, Wyndy Morehead, Tyce Marshall and Hoppy Long with a net 28
Third: Art and Caroline Brown and Bonnie and Dennis Sakos with a 29
Low “new member” team: Moose Penfold, Kathy Herlong and Jim and Lee Heelan
TWGA President’s Bowl
18-hole division: First: Peggy Henson with a two-round net total of 73-67=140.
Runner-up: Jane Templeton with a net total of 77-70=147.
9-hole division: First: New member Georganne Murphy with a net score of 33-30=63.
Runner-up: Anne Connolly with a net score of 37-34=71.
TWGA Wing Ding
First: Cynthia Terwilliger, June Current, Anne Connolly and Sarah Potter with a net 31
Second: Bonnie Sakos, Wyndy Morehead, Nancy Hiley and Lee Heelan with a net 38
