Columbus resident Chuck Trevathan and longtime Polk County 4-H volunteer was recently recognized for his contributions to the local 4-H program. Trevathan has served in many capacities with 4-H, from being an active Polk County 4-H Foundation board member and officer to working the barbeque pit at dozens of 4-H barbeque suppers and completing whatever odd jobs needed to be accomplished.
“We are so pleased to recognize Chuck and his many contributions to the local 4-H program,” said Helen Clark, county 4-H program assistant. “He has helped in many ways to strengthen the 4-H program for our 4-H youth. As an officer in the 4-H Foundation he personally oversaw several projects in and around our Polk County 4-H Center.”
Trevathan and his wife, Helen, moved to Polk County several years ago. Both have been active in the community. In addition to sharing their talents with 4-H, the Trevathans have been very active members of the Columbus Lions Club.
