The Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) has announced that Kate Monahan of Tryon has earned an associate of fine arts degree in illustration. Degrees were awarded at DCAD’s commencement held Sunday, May 13 at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Del.
The Delaware College of Art and Design is the result of a unique collaboration between Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. and the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C., two of the country’s oldest and finest art schools.
Upon receiving their AFA degree from DCAD, most graduates transfer to Pratt, the Corcoran or other institutions to complete a four-year degree, while others enter the workforce to pursue career opportunities in the arts.
