Saluda Arts Festival receives $2,500 grant

The Saluda Business Association announces that it has recently received a $2,500 grant from the Polk County Community Foundation’s Saluda Fund to support the musical entertainment at the 8th Annual Saluda Arts Festival.

The vision of the Polk County Community Foundation is to advance philanthropy and improve the quality of life for all citizens in Polk County, North Carolina and the surrounding area. The mission of the Polk County Community Foundation is to:

• Support charitable and beneficial activities in the community;

• Provide and administer a variety of planned giving programs;

• Serve as responsible stewards of all funds entrusted to it;

• Provide initiatives in recognizing areas of community needs and supporting solutions.

The Saluda Arts Festival will be held May 21, 2011 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Saluda with more than 50 artists showcasing their works of art.

At the Pavilion in McCreery Park in Saluda a lineup of musical talent will start performing at 11 a.m. In addition to art exhibits, festivalgoers will be entertained by One Leg Up and the Swayback Sisters. Additional musicians are still to be confirmed before announcement.
