If youve ever wanted to learn to speak basic Italian, or if you know some Italian but arent sure you are pronouncing it correctly, you may be interested in an upcoming 10-session course in Italian language. The course will be taught by a native Italian, Bruno Basile.

Basile was born in Milan and grew up in Tuscany where his parents still live on a farm, and where he visits often. As an American business consultant who currently lives in the Asheville area, Basile has provided tutoring in the Italian language for several years.

Basile will bring his inherent knowledge of his native tongue along with his teaching skills to classes at Giardini Trattoria every other Tuesday evening starting Jan. 25.

Topics to be covered will include basic verb conjugations as well as simple conversation and understanding customs. The evening class will be enhanced by sharing a light supper each session provided by the chefs at Giardini.

Learning food and drink vocabulary, as well as understanding the process of ordering and paying for meals will enhance your future trip to Italy or just the conversation at your dinner table.

Classes will be held every other Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. Dates of the classes are Jan. 25, Feb. 8, Feb. 22, Mar. 8, Mar. 22, Apr. 5, Apr. 19, May 3, May 17 and a final party on May 31. Classes will continue into summer or fall if there is continued interest.

Class size will be limited. Call to register or to find out further information at 828-894-0234.
